Self-Hosted Pod Responsibilities


Pod Location: The clinic or hospital that desires to host a private group at their facility
Course Vendor: EchoGen Portal


Self-host Pod Requirements

  • Access to clinic owned or loaner ultrasound equipment to be arranged solely by the self-host clinic. 
  • Attendees mush have a minimum of six months experience with ultrasound scanning to Self-Host a learning pod
  • In the absence of the requisite six months experience, Pods are required to have an approved teaching assistant present throughout the course
  • TAs must be vetted prior to Pod approval and require a minimum of four registrants in order to support a sponsored TA

Self-host Pod Logistics: 

  • Self-hosed pods are private groups which can be at any clinical location within reason.
  • Attendance is 100% at the discretion of the Pod and the Pod is responsible for recruiting attendees, EGP will refer inquiries to the Pod host if desired.
  • The course will be live-streamed into the pod facility from the host location
  • The facility needs adequate space for 1-3 treatment tables and seating in one room.
  • Separate lecture and lab tables are preferrable.  
  • Pod host is responsible to communicate with all attendees concerning location, parking etc. and ensure the facility is operational prior to the course dates
  • Provide all supplies for labs to include gel, US specific sanitizing wipes, gloves and FDA approved probe covers for transperineal labs

 Self-host Pod Tech Requirements:

  • LCD projector with cables and power supply
  • Projection screen, monitors or blank wall to display the visual presentation
  • Small groups may wish to use laptops but larger projections are preferred
  • Sufficient Wi-Fi bandwidth to support broadcasting on a Zoom or similar meeting platform from the class space. 
  • Performing an internet speed test to confirm connectivity in the scheduled space is suggested.  

Course Vendor Responsibilities:

  • Instructor agrees to provide 19.5 hours of continuing education broadcast remotely from the host location
  • Provide a digital copy of all course material to include pre-requisite reading, videos, course manual and CEU certificates to all participants
  • Arrange for a qualified teaching assistant to be present for the entirety of the course
  • TA approved travel expenses
